Growing Vegetables with Confidence

What: 8-week intensive skills training in urban agriculture 

When: 3 days a week [M,T,W], each session 3 hours long [9am to 12pm], May 24 – July 15 

Description: 

This workshop is an 8-week intensive exploration of how to successfully grow vegetables, harvest them and get them ready for processing. Participants are taught hands-on skills along with general concepts of urban agriculture.  Participants are introduced to composting, water harvesting, simple food preservation techniques as well turning the attained skills into self-sufficiency actions at home, community gardening projects or employment opportunities. The workshop is held at Cavendish Community Food Hub where all the growing is done in raised garden-beds that are fully accessible. No prior gardening experience is required. No materials needed.   • Week 5: Visit to Western Fair and other urban agriculture sites in London

  • Week 8: Preparing your garden for long-term success
