This is a story about Kayla…

Kayla is a facilitator with Little Hands Big Impact, where she guides children through hands-on learning in food growing, sustainability, and community connection. A Registered Early Childhood Educator with nine years of experience, she brings a holistic and inclusive approach grounded in empathy, curiosity, and care.

Her background spans across childcare, kindergarten, Indigenous-led early learning, and work within a mental health agency, where she supported children and families through trauma-informed, strength-based care. Kayla has also worked abroad in Glasgow, Scotland, as a nursery practitioner, gaining valuable insight into international approaches to early childhood education. She also works with the Waldorf School, where she continues to deepen her understanding of holistic education, an experience that has inspired meaningful personal reflection and growth in her own practice.

Currently, she is pursuing studies in the Autism and Behavioural Science program, expanding her skills in supporting children of all abilities. Kayla believes every child deserves to feel capable, valued, and connected. Outside of her work, she enjoys reading, Pilates, puzzles, and spending time with family and friends—simple joys that reflect the calm, thoughtful presence she brings to her work with children every day.
